Head of the parasitology unit at the National Veterinary Institute providing advisory services to Veterinary Authorities, and diagnostic services regarding parasitic infections of production animals, pet animals, zoo animals and wild life. Active in research on protozoans of veterinary and zoonotic importance, vector-borne parasitic diseases as well as Trichinella. Responsible for the National Reference Laboratory for Trichinella and thereby surveillance of Trichinella i Danish wildlife. Currently involved in surveillance of Echinococcus multilocularis in fox and racoon dog, and mapping of the gastrointestinal parasite fauna of the common eider.
