Interests concern the ecology of waterbirds and their role in the spread of infectious diseases to domestic animals, with an emphasis on wild birds as vectors of Newcastle Disease and Avian Influenza viruses. Responsible for surveillance programmes of avian influenza in wild birds in Denmark and Greenland in collaboration with the National Veterinary Institute and the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration.
